Day 27: 30 Days of Biking, Catching a 5K and a Cold

It's another cold, wet day today, similar to yesterday. Brrrrr!!!! April has not been a great month for riding! Ethan texted early in the morning to see if I wanted to loop Nahant, but I had another plan in mind -- Mike was running a 5k at 9 a.m., and I wanted to bike over to Salem to cheer him on!

Ethan was cool with that plan, so we headed out in the drizzle to catch the race before it started, and arrived in time to see Mike heading out at the start. (Go, Mike!) After he passed us, we decided to stalk him, and rode to the half-way point to catch him as he headed back, snapped a few photos, and then rode ahead to the finish line to congratulate him. He made great time! (He wore bib number 24, and finished in under 24 minutes.) Way to go, honey!

After the race, Ethan and I poked back through Salem and looped Marblehead Neck before heading home. I'm coming down with a cold, (woke up with a sore throat), and Ethan gave me a Cold-ease at the start of our ride, but I didn't want to stay out in the rain all day. (Just 15 pokey miles). My shoes are still soaked from yesterday. Brrrrrrr.....
