Day 13: 30 Days of Biking, Pre-Game Ride

During lacrosse season, I'll usually squeeze in a ride during the pre-game warm-ups of an away game. Chip's required to be at the field 1 hour before game time for warm-up drills -- and since many of the games can be quite a distance from town, (Newburyport, Gloucester, Winthrop), it's really a time commitment for me as well. A 45 minute drive, plus an hour hanging out pre-game, (and the game time itself), can really eat up a Sunday afternoon. Last year, I got in the habit of tossing my bike in the car to squeeze in a quick 10-15 mile ride before face-off. It's a great way to break up the time, even if it's a short ride.

Today's game took us to North Reading and unfamiliar roads. I headed out on a straight "out and back" route without many turns, not wanting to lose my bearings and be late for the game. An easy 12 miles for Day 13 of 30 Days of Biking. (And the Big Blue won, 6-0.) Yay!
