Its Memorial Day, and our thoughts are with our brother-in-law Owen, Mike's sister, Linda, our nephew Tim, Owen's sister Bell, and the entire Clements family today. Owen's 22 year old nephew, Julian Clement Chase, was killed in Afghanistan on Memorial Day last year, May 28th, 2012. Julian was a Marine sergeant serving in combat operations in the Helmand Province when he was killed in action. Our hearts are with the Clements family as we pay tribute on this day to those who gave their lives in service to our country.
Despite our first day of sunshine in almost a week, I wasn't feeling up to a ride today... but headed out and joined SpiderOne anyway, thinking of my commitment to the Undefeated/EOD Ride four months from now. I hope in some small way this ride to support Julian's fellow wounded servicemen will honor his memory.
