Friday started off without much promise for a dry ride. We woke up to rain and drizzle and wet roads, and I wasn't sure it would clear up at all during the day. I put off my ride, hour by hour. At 9:00 I said I'd head out at 10:00... but 10:00 turned into 11:00... and 11:00 soon became noon. I just didn't have the emotional energy to deal with the weather.
By 3:00 the skies were clearing and sun started to appear. After dropping Chip off at lacrosse, the skies were blue with a descending sun, and I had an opportunity to get out for a quick ride down to the beach. It wasn't a long jaunt... just 2.5 miles... but nice to sit on the beach and listen to the waves and calm my emotions from the week. It's been a tough one.
