Sometimes I just shake my head and wonder what the hell I'm doing. I've been looking forward to wrapping up a long season of riding that included winter frostbite rides, SpiderOne Monday night beat downs, long mileage on the weekends, Cyclopath breakfast rides, and several charity rides. The Undefeated/EOD Ride next weekend has been the light at the end of the tunnel for the last month, and I was looking forward to taking a break from the bike. So why I signed up for a P2 class with Shayne, to work on increasing my power/speed over the winter, is a total head scratcher.
I'm not teaching classes this fall, and had planned to spend more time in the studio focusing on a complete body of work, (and a 2014 exhibition proposal) -- but I seem to be filling my schedule with other things... like P2! Soon I'll be returning to muscle conditioning and cardio workouts with trainers Keli and Christine, (the boys' football schedules have interfered with that this fall)... and I hope to return to Nashoba Valley this winter for another season of morning snowboarding. I remember the days when winter was fat season.
Yesterday was Day One of P2, and my third test on the computrainer. (3-2-1). I've seen a huge improvement in my power and fitness since April... and Shayne gives good feedback... which is why I stick with it. But I need a goal. I do best when I have a purpose in mind. That's something to think about.
