As many of you know, PMC 2009 was a difficult one. After struggling all week with exhaustion, and dropping 9 pounds in 9 days, I learned I was in trouble. Big trouble. My hematocrit plummeted and I became severely anemic. Crazy. How did it happen? Best guess at MGH Cancer Center, where I've been seeing a hematologist, is that I somehow developed a bone marrow infection. I don't know. It's all insane. Good news is, my hematocrit is on the rise and I'm feeling a little stronger. Thank you to everyone who is helping me get through this -- and thank you to my North Shore Cyclopath teammates who always have my back. Onward and upward.
