Fundraising for PMC 2009

I became involved with the Pan Mass Challenge in 2003 after losing three family members to cancer in 4 years. I rode my first PMC as a tribute to Jessica Noon, Nick Noon and Loretta Schalck, with their names on ribbons attached to my jersey, and their photos in my pockets as I crossed the finish line. Sadly, cancer continues to strike those we love, and each year I've added a few more ribbons.

Today, I ride...
In Memory of 27 loved ones lost to this devastating disease.
In Honor of 9 friends and family members fighting cancer today.
In Support of a brave Pedal Partner, Welles Mason, fighting a battle no 4 year old should have to face. And,
In Tribute to 6 cancer survivors.

Please look at the names listed to the right. They are our uncles, cousins, nieces, friends. They are the reason why I continue to ride. Participating in the PMC has become very personal.

This doesn't work without you! Over the last six years, you, my generous sponsors, have contributed over $23,000 to the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the PMC. I need your help once more to raise another $3,500 in these tough economic time. Cancer doesn't take a break when the economy is bad, and today your donations are desperately needed. Budgets have been slashed and funding is down, making the Pan Mass Challenge more important than ever. Last year, the Pan Mass Challenge raised an astounding $35 million dollars with 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar going directly to the Jimmy Fund -- an unheard-of pass-through rate in charitable fundraising. Every penny of your donation is at work funding new studies, new treatments, new ideas.

Thank you for your generous support and for being a part of the Pan Mass Challenge. My fundraising newsletters will be mailed shortly. To make a donation online, please visit my profile page at PMC.org. I am grateful for your support.
