Coffeeneuring Ride 2: Coffee shop without Walls

Oh my, we had a cold start to the weekend! Today's coffeeneuring excursion was a coffee-shop-without-walls ride! I headed out (at 47 degrees) with a packed thermos of hot cocoa and half of a Dunkin' pumpkin muffin courtesy of Will. Once I started riding, the chilly temps became less noticeable, and I'm glad I was motivated to get out.

The Clifton Pumpkin Patch, Marblehead

After a quick spin through Marblehead, I stopped at the Clifton Pumpkin Patch at the Clifton Lutheran Church to pick up a sugar pumpkin to make soup! The patch has become a local tradition, with the church sending $180,000 in proceeds over the last ten years to a New Mexico Indian reservation where the pumpkins are grown.

The pumpkin didn't quite fit in my full pack, (I didn't want to squash my muffin), so I zippered it into my jacket and managed to ride to the beach with a plump little "belly".

The hot cocoa and muffin made a perfect treat -- a nice warm up for the rest of the ride home.
